111 Bakery has been around for as long as I can remember. This Vietnames bakery / cake shop has all my favorite goodies that I have been devouring since I was a little girl. Everything is amazing here, but my superstar standouts are:
#11 Dac Biet Banh Mi Sandwich: You can get a full-size stacked baguette sandwich for $6.50 - which is very rare to find these days. Their special includes 4 kinds of meat: ham, headcheese, steamed pork, and shredded pork. Additionally, you can expect all the fixins: cilantro, pickled carrots, cucumber, and jalapeno. I especially love this place because they season the sandwich with soy sauce and pepper, instead of lathering on cheap mayonnaise! It’s just the best, most thoughtful banh mi sandwich you’ll ever have. Go order it! And please, not the mini size! Order the full baguette for optimal meat-to-bread ratio - because you are a badass and deserve it
Hot Dog Buns: These were my favorite snack growing up! The savory meat hugged by the slightly sweet bun was just the perfectly balanced, heavenly bite! Even as an adult, I am still addicted to them and they genuinely make me smile every time I pick up a few!
Pate Chaud: If you know you know. Delicious pork-filled puff pastry, what’s not to love?! I especially adore these because it’s minced pork and seasoned incredibly well. Most places will place a meatball inside of the pate chaud, and it just doesn’t hit the same way if it’s not minced. The way 111 Bakery prepared the filling here is next level TLC!
Although these are the shining stars of my visit, there are so many things I also order from time to time too!. They have a variety of savory and sweet buns, house-made bread, personalized cakes and dessert. Swing by when you get a chance, I promise you it’s impossible to leave with just one item!
